Michael Vacek grew up in the northern forests of Minnesota and obtained education in the fields of Biology and Fine Art Photography from the University of Minnesota. His 10-year career in the biological sciences and personal experiences have allowed him to observe and understand a diverse array of natural areas across the United States. The most notable experiences include walking across North America on both the 2150 mile Appalachian Trail in 2006 and the 2650 mile Pacific Crest Trail in 2010. He currently resides in New York City.
